"This place(The best hotel in Costa Rica) is an out-of-this world paradise. The view and feeling of being in a tree house from the deck is outstanding. Steve and Debbie's layout of plantings and flowers and paths-both road and foot-are stunning. It is simply gorgeous here. To look out over the green splendor, makes one feel incredibly lucky to be one of the few who gets to experience it. The sunset lava hike is definitely a once in a lifetime experience-we got amazing views of red hot lava rocks emitting from the cone and rolling down the sides! The hike at El Silenco forest was also amazing-spider and howler monkeys AND fantastic volcano views. Anyone who stays here will never forget it as a once in a lifetime experience." "Picking Costa Rica as our honeymoon destination was multi-faceted: Adventure, education and of course-HONEYMOON!...My new bride is a science teacher and roaming around an active volcano was just the beginning. Add monkey spotting, bird watching, horseback riding through the rain forests and all the flora & fauna we could pack into 4 days, we couldn’t have imagined that Deb & Steve made it all happen. And they did!..... Each of the three cabanas has the best hi-def view around: two large windows with unobstructed views of Arenal. We forgot about TV and were constantly checking the volcano for the ever changing view!... The staff at L&L delivered the goods. Each day started with a full, hearty breakfast (no wimpy Continental style) of fresh juices, fruits, local eggs and the Costa Rican favorite dish Gallo Pinto (LOVED IT!). First morning we were treated to a guided horseback ride through a local rain forest with Geovani and Chito, a favorite local guides with an amazing knowledge of the forest and wildlife. A bonus for us was a swim at a river with a beautiful waterfall cascading into the pool below.....Off site, Deb recommended and made reservations for us at several attractions in La Fortuna. Deb & Steve have built great relationships with other businesses in the region and each relies on outstanding service to maintain their referral business. Their advice on activities in the area was phenomenal and we never doubted they had our best interests at heart. One afternoon, Deb led us around the property and we discussed their on-going efforts to re-forest the area and invest in the local community. Their love of the area and people shows and pays off with a beautiful compound and extraordinary service....Are we going back?
